PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 1 – FRI 15 MAY 2026
Hi everyone, welcome to our Parish’s Pentecost Novena mini-reflections. Here’s Part One of a 9 day series of reflections I had done previously (with some edits) as we, the Church, prepare for Pentecost in this Pentecost Novena - 9 days, starting from Fri after Ascension till Sat of the 7th Week of Easter.
Our prayer to the Lord throughout the Novena is “SEND US YOUR SPIRIT, LORD!” Here’s Day 1:
Today, the Church starts the preparation for Pentecost by praying the Pentecost Novena, following our Blessed Mother Mary’s & apostles’ example by praying continuously in the Upper Room for 9 days after Jesus Ascension for the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost (see Acts 1:12-14).
In this our Parish’s 90th Anniversary we pray that the hope of the Gospel may not disappoint us as the Holy Spirit pours God’s love into our hearts (see Romans 5:5) 🙏🎶😍 We plead for the Holy Spirit to create & renew our lives – marriages, family relationships, friendships, ministries, faith & spiritual life, emotional well-being, health, work / business & finances. Open your hearts to the changing & transforming power of the Holy Spirit 🙏😍🎶

PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 2 – SAT 16 MAY 2026
Today, the Lord in his Word in Ezekiel 36:26-27 tells us he will change our hearts & place his Spirit in us. What a great privilege & joy ❤️😍🙏 Now we can truly live a life that rejects pride, self-centredness & slavery to legalism; instead, we will be humble, others-centred & free to be life-giving & to love sincerely.
Let’s open our hearts to the Holy Spirit this Pentecost Novena; to change our “I HAVE TO do this” into “I CHOOSE to do it”; to transform our usual motivation of the (sometimes) burden of duty / obligation into willing & loving service to God & others.

PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 3 – SUN 17 MAY 2026
God’s Word in Ezekiel 47 leads us today to the Holy Spirit, the river of life, which flows unceasingly, bringing life, love, grace, mercy, healing, refreshment & peace to all who immerse themselves in His life-giving streams. Stay close to the Holy Spirit this Pentecost Novena, so that your life with overflow with living water, watering not only your parched soul but also quenching the thirst in everyone’s heart for love & healing.
