PENTECOST NOVENA PART 3
PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 7 – THU 21 MAY 2026
Today, we affirm what St Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 12, that all of us are parts forming the body of Christ, brought together into unity through the Holy Spirit.
We all belong to Jesus, & every member an important part of the Body. Yet many times we break this unity through our pride, selfishness, criticism & harsh judgement of others, lack of love & acceptance of others & unforgiveness.
The Lord is calling us today to a deeper level of Repentance & Conversion; to receive a new & fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit; to love & accept others as brothers & sisters; to preserve the unity of the Spirit at all times; to use our gifts to build up the Church & serve God’s people.

We continue Day 2 of our Pentecost Triduum at 7.30 pm at Main Church. Please join our parish family as we pray together for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit into our lives in this our 26th Anniversary as a Parish.
Here’s a song we sang at Pentecost Triduum last evening called ‘Complete’ which I’m prompted to share with you – though the reference to the Holy Spirit is inferred, yet the theme of our being made complete & one in the Lord & each other through the Spirit rings out loud & clear 🙏😍🎶

PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 8 – FRI 22 MAY 2026
Our reflection today from Acts 1:8 is about POWER💪❤️🙏 Not in the usual & worldly sense, but in the Infinitely more important framework of the spiritual & supernatural Gift of the Holy Spirit.
This power changed weak, fearful & ordinary men into apostles & martyrs for their Lord Jesus; converted the heart of Saul, a persecutor of the Christians into Paul, the Apostle of the Gentiles; moved Stephen to forgive & pray for his murderers; stirred men & women throughout the ages & in various lands to mission & evangelization, to serve the poor & sick, teach children by building schools etc.
“This promise (the Holy Spirit) is for you ...” (Acts 2:39). Today, we claim the power & anointing of the Holy Spirit in our life to be Jesus’ faithful disciples & powerful witnesses. It’s not about us & our abilities (or lack of it); rather it’s about the power of the Holy Spirit & our willingness & desire to serve the Lord in humility & trust.

PENTECOST NOVENA DAY 9 – SAT 23 MAY 2026
Today, from John 7:36-38, the Lord Invites us to receive the streams of living water 💧❤️🎶🙏
What is this living water? It’s the Holy Spirit! He refreshes, renews & restores us. He quenches our thirsty soul. He brings new life to us & gives us fresh insights & understanding, renewed zeal & motivation to love & serve others, supernatural courage & strength to face challenges & overcome them and a greater desire to seek the Lord’s will and desire for holiness.
So how can we better access to this living water? Firstly, having a joyful & thankful heart - “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Is 12:3). Let’s always approach the Lord with an open heart filled with expectant joy & deep gratitude. Next, with a humble and contrite heart, we need to repent & obtain God’ mercy. And finally with a heart filled with trust & confidence in the Lord, we come to Jesus (see Heb 4:16).
Today, we conclude The Pentecost Novena & await joyfully to celebrate Pentecost tomorrow. May the Holy Spirit flood your soul with all His graces & may He flow through you to your family, loved ones & community.

PENTECOST SUNDAY – 24 MAY 2026
Today, as we celebrate Pentecost, we conclude this glorious Easter season & open our hearts to receive anew the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Alleluia 👏🙏🎶😍
The various reflections the last 9 of days in our Pentecost Novena have helped prepare our hearts for this day – to live the new life of the Risen Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Today’s Gospel (Year A) from John 20:19-22 speaks to us of the peace the Risen Lord Jesus imparts to the apostles (& to us too); He then breathes on them (& us) His divine breath (‘Ruach’ in Hebrew) & gives the Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit revive & renew your life, bring you the peace, comfort & mercy of the Lord & empower you to love & serve Him & others with great joy & zeal.
Here’s a bonus teaching by Fr Simon Pereira, plus a prayer for the Infilling of the Holy Spirit:
Blessed Pentecost to all 👏😍🎶
