Welcome To HFC Blog
Hello everyone, we are so excited to finally launch our very own HFC Blog. It’s so great that we can start our first post on this Memorial Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, as we remember the day in 1531 when Our Blessed Mother Mary appeared to St Juan Diego in Guadalupe, Mexico. We ask Our Lady to pray for all of us at HFC to be committed to bring the Good News of Salvation of Jesus Christ to our families, friends, parish community and the people we interact with.
Our first message to all today is one of HOPE. Drawing inspiration from Friar Derrick Yap’s homily last Sunday, we want to share that God doesn’t want us to feel lost & disheartened. He wants to be near to us to console us (cf Is 40:1). God wants to ‘speak to the heart of Jerusalem’ (cf Is 40:2), that is, to each & every one of us & have a heart-to-heart connection with us.
When we are distracted & lost, seeking a sense of fulfillment, connection & meaning, God will give us strength to overcome these negative feelings. Jesus comes to change our hearts & the narrative in our minds that “I am not good enough”!
So folks, in this Advent time, let ourselves be found by Jesus. Let God level the mountains & fill up the valleys in our lives again. Hold on to the Hope, Love & Peace of Christ. Go to God with trust & confidence that He will never abandon you & allow Christ to be incarnate in your heart again this season.
