Welcome Back
As the new year begins, we warmly welcome your children back to catechesis. We’re glad to be walking this journey with your family once again. January often feels like a reset — new timetables, new hopes, and sometimes the same old busyness. As catechesis resumes, we simply want to say: you are welcome here, just as you are.
God Works in Ordinary Life
The Church begins the year in what is called Ordinary Time. That doesn’t mean “unimportant” or “boring.” It simply means this: God works most powerfully in ordinary, everyday life — in morning school drop-offs, long workdays, family dinners, and the quiet moments in between.
Faith doesn’t always grow through big spiritual experiences. Very often, it grows slowly, quietly, through presence, consistency, and showing up. That’s what catechesis is about—not perfection, but formation over time.
A Small Invitation for This Season
As your child returns to catechesis, here’s a simple question you might reflect on:
Where might God already be present in our family’s everyday life?
There’s no right answer. Even noticing the question is a good place to begin.
Lord, in this Ordinary Time, bless our home with Your presence.
Help us see You in daily life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you for entrusting your children to us. May this new year be one where we discover — perhaps quietly — that God has been walking with us all along.
Featured Saint:
Saint Monica
Saint Monica was a mother who prayed faithfully for her family despite years of struggle. Though her son Augustine wandered far from the faith, her patient trust in God bore fruit. She reminds parents that steady love and prayer truly matter.
