Walking with Jesus this Holy Week
This weekend, we mark Palm Sunday and begin Holy Week. It starts with a crowd walking with Jesus in hope — and continues through a meal, the Cross, a time of waiting, and finally, new life.
The Paschal Triduum
At the heart of this week is the Paschal Triduum — three holy days that form one journey, reliving Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection as the source of our salvation.
Holy Thursday — A shared meal, a love that gives: Jesus institutes the Eucharist and Priesthood, washing the disciples' feet as a model of humble service
Good Friday — The Cross, where love is lived out fully: Jesus empties and humbles himself for our sins, reconciling us to theFather in boundless mercy
Holy Saturday & Easter — Waiting that opens into new life: In silence, like Mary, we trust amid uncertainty, preparing for the Resurrection's victorious light
These are not separate events, but one story — a journey we are invited to walk.
As a Family
Your child will encounter these mysteries in catechesis. Try something simple this week: At day's end or during a meal, ask:
“Where did you notice something good today?” or
“What was one difficult moment today?”
Share your own, walking side by side through joy and trial — like Jesus with his disciples. End by praying the Our Father together, uniting your day to Christ's perfect obedience
Come and Walk with Us
Holy Week is a journey — from hope, through difficulty, into new life.
We invite you to come for one of the mass or services during these days. Even a short time — simply being present — is a way to join this journey.
Wherever you are starting from, take a step… and walk with Jesus.
